SENATE BILL 777

 

 

AN ACT to increase the punishment for violating certain laws regulating certified public accountants.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

SECTION 1.  G.S. 93-13 reads as rewritten:

"§ 93-13.  Violation of Chapter; penalty.

Any violation of the provisions of this Chapter shall be deemed a Class 3 misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof the guilty party shall only be fined not less than one hundred dollars ($100.00) and not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each offense.A violation of G.S. 93-3, 93-4, 93-5, 93-6, or 93-8 shall be a Class 1 misdemeanor."

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective December 1, 2007, and applies to violations occurring on or after that date.
