HOUSE BILL 521

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DURHAM TO DELEGATE TO THE CITY MANAGER AUTHORITY TO APPROVE PETITIONS FOR WATER AND SEWER SERVICE.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

Section 1.  Section 82 of the Charter of the City of Durham, being Chapter 671, 1975 Session Laws, is amended by adding a new subdivision to read:

"(9)      The City Council may delegate authority to the City Manager or designee of the City Manager to approve or deny any petition submitted pursuant to this section, and to take any other actions which the City Council is authorized to take pursuant to this section, all without the necessity of further action by the City Council."

Sec. 2.  This act is effective upon ratification.
