CHAPTER 734

HOUSE BILL 1388

 

AN ACT TO PERMIT THE COUNTY OF PERSON TO ENGAGE IN CERTAIN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  Section 1 of Chapter 566 of the Session Laws of 1983 is rewritten to read:

"Section 1. The County of Person may expend community development funds to make grants or loans to businesses in order to provide and protect employment opportunities for persons of low income. Such a grant or loan may be made to provide money for eligible activities under the Federal Community Development Block Grant Program."

Sec. 2.  This act is effective upon ratification.
