HOUSE BILL 454

 

AN ACT TO ALLOW THE TOWN OF TROUTMAN TO APPOINT A TOWN ADMINISTRATOR.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  Article V of the Charter of the Town of Troutman, being Chapter 144, Session Laws of 1981, is amended by adding a new Chapter to read:

"Chapter 1A. Town Administrator.

"Sec. 5.1A.  Town Administrator. In lieu of establishing the council-manager form of government by ordinance as authorized by Section 5.1 above and by Part 4 of Article 5, Chapter 160A of the General Statutes, the Board of Aldermen may establish the position of Town Administrator by ordinance, and may appoint a Town Administrator to be the chief administrative officer of the Town government. The Administrator shall be responsible to the Board for the proper administration of Town affairs, shall serve at the pleasure of the Board, and shall perform such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Board."

Sec. 2.  This act is effective upon ratification.
