HOUSE BILL 105
AN ACT TO GIVE COUNTY BOARDS OF COMMISSIONERS THE SAME FLEXIBILITY AS CITIES IN DETERMINING THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS OF A HOUSING AUTHORITY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
Section 1. The third paragraph of G.S. 157-33 is amended by deleting the words "five commissioners", and inserting in lieu thereof the words "not less than five nor more than nine commissioners".
Sec. 2. G.S. 157-34 is amended by adding after the first sentence the following new sentence: "The board of county commissioners may at any time by resolution or ordinance increase or decrease the membership of an authority, within the limitations prescribed in G.S. 157-33."
Sec. 3. This act is effective upon ratification.
