AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR VIDEOTAPING OF DEPOSITIONS.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
Section 1. G.S. 1A-1, Rule 30(b)(4) is rewritten to read as follows:
"Testimony at a deposition may be taken without order of court by methods other than stenographic means, including videotape. If the testimony is to be taken by other than stenographic means, the notice shall state the method by which it shall be taken and upon request of any party five days prior to the taking of the deposition, the deposing party shall provide for the transcribing of the testimony taken by videotape and the filing of the transcript of such testimony with the clerk in the manner provided in paragraph f(1) of this rule."
Sec. 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 1977.
