HOUSE BILL 1073

 

AN ACT TO PERMIT CERTAIN RETIREMENT SYSTEM CREDITS FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE OFFICE OF CLERK OF SUPERIOR COURT OF CABARRUS COUNTY PRIOR TO SUCH TIME AS THEY WERE ASSIMILATED BY THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE OF THE COURTS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1. With the approval of the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County, retirement service credit in the Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System may be given to any employee or former employee of the office of Clerk of Superior Court of Cabarrus County for service performed prior to the time such employees were assimilated by the Administrative Office of the Courts in 1970; provided, such credit shall not be allowed unless the county's contribution and the employees' contributions, plus interest, are paid to the Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System, in a single lump sum payment, such amount to be determined by the Retirement System; and, further provided that the individuals so covered have active accounts in the Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System at the time the payments are made.

Sec. 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 1975.
