HOUSE BILL 763

 

 

AN ACT TO AMEND SCHEDULE IV OF THE CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES ACT TO INCLUDE CERTAIN NEW SUBSTANCES THEREIN.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 90-92 is hereby amended as follows:(a) by rewriting subsection "(a)" as follows:

"(a)       Any material, compound, mixture, or preparation which contains any quantity of the following substances unless specifically exempted or listed in another schedule:

1.         Barbital

2.         Chloral betaine

3.         Chloral hydrate

4.         Ethchlorvynol\

5.         Ethinamate

6.         Mebutamate

7.         Meprobamate

8.         Methohexital

9.         Methlyphenobarbital

10.       Paraldehyde

11.       Petrichloral

12.       Phenobarbital"

(b)        by adding a new subsection "(d)" as follows:

"(d)      Stimulants. Unless specifically excepted or unless listed in another schedule, any material, compound, mixture, or preparation which contains any quantity of the following substances having a stimulant effect on the central nervous system, including its salts, isomers (whether optical, position, or geometric), and salts of such isomers whenever the existence of such salts, isomers, and salts of isomers is possible within the specific chemical designation:

(1)        Diethylpropion

(2)        Phentermine

(3)        Pemoline (including organometallic complexes and chelates thereof)."

Sec. 2.  This act shall become effective July 1, 1975.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 26th day of May, 1975.
