HOUSE BILL 1390

 

AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 74 OF THE 1913 PRIVATE LAWS OF NORTH CAROLINA, EXTRA SESSION, RELATING TO THE INCORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NORMAN, NORTH CAROLINA.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Section 3 of Chapter 74 of the 1913 Private Laws of North Carolina, Extra Session, is hereby amended by striking out all of said section between the word "election" in line four of said section and the word "The" in line ten of said section, and inserting in lieu thereof the following words: "on Tuesday after the first Monday in May, one thousand nine hundred and seventy-three, namely: Mayor, E. V. Hogan; Commissioners, D. T. Warner, J. D. Hancock, J. C. McLeod.  The Commissioners shall have authority to appoint a marshal and treasurer to hold office until the next regular election in May.  All of the offices named herein shall be filled by election of the popular vote, except that of marshal and treasurer, which shall be filled by appointment of the commissioners."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This act shall be in full force upon ratification.
