HOUSE BILL 937

AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PITT COUNTY TO EXERCISE THE POWER OF EMINENT DOMAIN TO ACQUIRE LAND FOR DISPOSAL OF GARBAGE.

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1.  In order to exercise the powers contained in Section 153-273 of the General Statutes and in order to acquire land to create a landfill for the disposal of trash and other debris, the Board of County Commissioners of Pitt County is vested with the power of eminent domain, as set forth in Chapter 40 of the General Statutes.

Sec. 2.  This act shall become effective upon ratification.
