SENATE BILL 25

 

 

AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 14-250, RELATING TO THE LICENSE TAGS OF STATE‑OWNED VEHICLES.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 14-250 is hereby amended by inserting the following words immediately before the word "Provided" in the fifth line from the end thereof: "Provided, further, the Council of State shall have authority to authorize exemptions from the provisions of this section with respect to any State-owned vehicle when they find that it is in the public interest to do so because of the use to be made of the vehicle. Such exemptions shall be perfected and effective upon the filing with the Secretary of State of a notice of exemption identifying the vehicle, stating the use to be made of it, the individual or department to which assigned, and the period of the exemption, which may not exceed twelve months.

Sec. 2.  This act shall become effective upon its ratification.
