AN ACT AMENDING CHAPTER 1455 OF THE 1957 SESSION LAWS, SO AS TO PERMIT THE SALE OF BEER AND WINE IN AREAS ANNEXED BY THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Section 8 of Chapter 1455 of the Session Laws of 1957 is amended by striking therefrom after the word "hereof" in line 4 thereof all thereafter within said Section 8 and substituting in lieu thereof the words: "or within 3 miles of the center of the acreage belonging to Methodist College, Inc. For the purpose of further clarification of this description, the Bell Tower on said Methodist College campus shall be deemed to be the center of said acreage belonging to Methodist College, Inc. Excepted from the provisions of this Section 8 are those areas which are a part of the City of Fayetteville as of January 1, 1967; and no municipality or other governmental agency shall grant any license for the sale of beer, wine or other alcoholic beverages within the areas defined in this Section."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
