AN ACT TO AMEND G. S. 113-104 SO AS TO PERMIT HUNTING OF SQUIRRELS AND RABBITS WITH PISTOLS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. G. S. 113-104 is hereby amended by striking out the period following the word "pheasants" in line 22, inserting a semicolon in lieu thereof, and adding the following words: "provided that pistols with barrels not less than six inches in length and a muzzle velocity of not under 1100 feet per second and bullet weight of not less than 35 grains or more than 70 grains may be used in the hunting or taking of squirrels or rabbits on one's own land or on land in one's legal possession, or on lands of another where expressed permission has been granted therefor".

Sec. 2. This Act shall apply to the following Counties only: Madison, Yancey, Haywood, Buncombe, Caldwell, Alexander, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Macon, Cleveland, Polk, Rutherford, Mitchell and Transylvania.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.
