AN ACT TO PROVIDE COMPENSATION FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF JACKSON COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The salary of the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners of Jackson County is hereby increased by an amount equal to ten per cent (10%) of the salary now being paid said chairman.

Sec. 2. The other members of the Board of County Commissioners of Jackson County shall receive as compensation: (1) the sum of not more than forty-five dollars ($45.00) per diem for any single day, the major or substantial part of which is spent in the discharge of their official duties; (2) the sum of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per diem for night meetings or for day meetings involving three hours or less in the discharge of their official duties; (3) reimbursement for travel at a rate of seven cents (7¢) per mile. Provided, the total annual compensation to be received by such members in the discharge of their official duties shall not exceed the sum of one thousand two hundred dollars ($1,200.00) including reimbursement for travel.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect on and after July 1, 1967.
