HOUSE BILL 504

 

 

AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 8-3, WITH REGARD TO THE PROOF OF LAWS OF OTHER STATES.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 8-3, as the same appears in 1953 Recompiled Volume 1B of the General Statutes, is hereby amended as follows:

(1)        The first three sentences thereof are designated as subsection "(a)."

(2)        The fourth sentence thereof is stricken out.

(3)        The following subsection is added:

"(b)      Any party may exhibit a copy of the law of another state, territory, or foreign country copied from a printed volume of the laws of such state, territory, or country on file in

(1)        The offices of the Governor or the Secretary of State, and duly certified by the Secretary of State, or

(2)        The State Library and certified as provided in G.S. 125-6, or

(3)        The Supreme Court Library and certified as provided in G.S. 7A-13(f)."

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect on and after July 1, 1967.
