AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 128-15 SO AS TO EXTEND TO VETERANS OF THE VIETNAM CONFLICT, THEIR WIVES AND WIDOWS, EMPLOYMENT PREFERENCE.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 128-15 is amended by striking the period at the end of the first paragraph thereof and adding the following: "and including all citizens of the State who served in any of the armed services at any time between January 31, 1955, and the end of hostilities in Vietnam in which the United States is involved."

Sec. 2.  G.S. 128-15 is further amended by inserting in line two of the third paragraph, after the word and punctuation "conflict," and before the word "shall" in line three thereof, the following words and punctuation: "and including service in any of the armed forces at any time between January 31, 1955, and the end of hostilities in Vietnam in which the United States is involved,".

Sec. 3.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4.  This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.
