AN ACT RELATING TO THE COMPENSATION OF CERTAIN OFFICIALS OF VANCE COUNTY.

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. Section 1 of Chapter 862 of the Session Laws of 1965 is hereby amended by striking out the words and figures "five thousand dollars ($5,000.00)" in lines 4 and 6 and inserting in lieu thereof the words and figures "five thousand four hundred fifty dollars ($5,450.00)", it being the intent and purpose of this Section to increase the salary of the Judge of the Vance County Recorder's Court to five thousand four hundred fifty dollars ($5,450.00) per year.

Sec. 2. Section of Chapter 862 of the Session Laws of 1965 is hereby amended by striking out the words and figures "three hundred twenty-five dollars ($325.00)" in lines 3, 4, and 6 and inserting in lieu thereof the words and figures "three hundred fifty-seven dollars ($357.00)", it being the intent and purpose of this Section to increase the salary of the Prosecuting Attorney of the Vance County Recorder's Court to three hundred fifty-seven dollars ($357.00) per month.

Sec. 3. Section 3 of Chapter 862 of the Session Laws of 1965 is hereby amended by striking out the words and figures "three thousand two hundred fifty dollars ($3,250.00)" in lines 3, 5, and 6 and inserting in lieu thereof the words and figures "three thousand five hundred dollars ($3,500.00)", it being the intent and purpose of this Section to increase the salary of the Clerk of the Vance County Recorder's Court to three thousand five hundred dollars ($3,500.00) per year.

Sec. 4. Section 4 of Chapter 862 of the Session Laws of 1965 is hereby amended by striking out the words and figures "six thousand dollars ($6,000.00)" and "two thousand fifty dollars ($2,050.00)" in lines 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, respectively, and inserting in lieu thereof the words and figures "six thousand five hundred dollars ($6,500.00)" and "two thousand three hundred dollars ($2,300.00)", respectively, it being the intent and purpose of this Section to increase the salary of the Sheriff of Vance County to six thousand five hundred dollars ($6,500.00) and the allowance for the expense in performing the duties of his office to two thousand three hundred dollars ($2,300.00) per year.

Sec. 5. Section 5 of Chapter 862 of the Session Laws of 1965 is hereby amended by striking out the words and figures "seven thousand five hundred dollars ($7,500.00)" in lines 3, 4, and 6 and inserting in lieu thereof the words and figures "eight thousand two hundred fifty dollars ($8,250.00)", it being the intent and purpose of this Section to increase the salary of the Register of Deeds of Vance County to eight thousand two hundred fifty dollars ($8,250.00) per year.

Sec. 6. Section 6 of Chapter 862 of the Session Laws of 1965 is hereby amended by striking out the words and figures "five thousand dollars ($5,000.00)" in lines 3, 4, and 6 and inserting in lieu thereof the words and figures "five thousand five hundred dollars ($5,500.00)", it being the intent and purpose of this Section to increase the salary of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Vance County to five thousand five hundred dollars ($5,500.00) per year.

Sec. 7. Section 7 of Chapter 862 of the Session Laws of 1965 is hereby amended by striking out the words and figures "nine hundred sixty dollars ($960.00)" and "one thousand eight hundred sixty dollars ($1,860.00)" in lines 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, and 10, respectively, and inserting in lieu thereof the words and figures "one thousand dollars ($1,000.00)" and "one thousand nine hundred dollars ($1,900.00)", respectively, it being the intent and purpose of this Section to increase the salary of the members of the County Commissioners of Vance County to one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) per year and increase the salary of the Chairman of the County Commissioners of Vance County to one thousand nine hundred dollars ($1,900.00) per year.

Sec. 8. Section 8 of Chapter 862 of the Session Laws of 1965 is hereby amended by striking out the words and figures "one thousand four hundred dollars ($1,400.00)" in lines 3, 5, and 6 and inserting in lieu thereof the words and figures "fifteen hundred dollars ($1500.00)", it being the intent and purpose of this Section to increase the salary of the Judge of Juvenile Court of Vance County to fifteen hundred dollars ($1500.00) per year.

Sec. 9. Section 9 of Chapter 862 of the Session Laws of 1965 is hereby amended by striking out the words and figures "one hundred seventy-five dollars ($175.00)" in lines 4, 6, and 7 and inserting in lieu thereof the words and figures "one hundred eighty-five dollars ($185.00)", it being the intent and purpose of this Section to increase the salary of the Constable of Henderson Township in Vance County to one hundred eighty-five dollars ($185.00) per month.

Sec. 10. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 11. This Act shall become effective July 1, 1967.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 16th day of May, 1967.
