HOUSE BILL 62

 

 

AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 48-21(c) TO MAKE LESS RESTRICTIVE THE PROVISIONS FOR WAIVING AN INTERLOCUTORY DECREE OF ADOPTION.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 48-21(c) as it appears in 1966 Replacement Volume 2A of the General Statutes is hereby amended by inserting a comma in line five thereof immediately after the word "grandniece", and by adding, immediately after the comma and immediately before the word "of", words and punctuation as follows: "brother or sister, half brother or half sister,".

Sec. 2.  G.S. 48-21(c) as it appears in 1966 Replacement Volume 2A of the General Statutes is hereby further amended by deleting the word "sixteen" in line six thereof and by inserting the word "twelve" in the place of the word "sixteen".

Sec. 3.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4.  This Act shall be in full force and effect on and after its ratification.
