AN ACT TO MORE CLEARLY DEFINE THE AUTHORITY OF FIREMEN AT THE SCENE OF A FIRE.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  Members and employees of county, municipal corporation, fire protection district, sanitary district or privately incorporated fire de partments shall have authority to do all acts reasonably necessary to extinguish fires and protect life and property from fire. Any person, including the owner of property which is burning, who shall willfully interfere in any manner with firemen engaged in the performance of their duties shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punishable in the discretion of the court.

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
