SENATE BILL 572

 

 

AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE PAYMENT OF CERTAIN MILEAGE AND SUBSISTENCE EXPENSES OF THE NASH COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The chairman and other members of the Nash County Board of Education may receive actual subsistence costs while away from home on board business, and in addition thereto, an amount not exceeding eight cents (8¢) per mile for necessary travel while in the performance of their official duties, including travel to and from their respective homes in attending meetings of the board and an amount not exceeding ten dollars ($10.00) per diem for attending special call meetings other than regular monthly meetings of the board, not to exceed six such special meetings in any one year. The necessary funds to pay such expenses, in excess of such amounts as might be provided annually by the State Board of Education, shall be provided by the Board of Commissioners of Nash County in the same manner as said Board of Commissioners is now required to provide funds for the maintenance of plant, fixed charges and capital outlay with respect to the public schools.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after July 1, 1965.
