AN ACT TO APPOINT A TREASURER FOR WAKE COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. On the first Monday in December 1964, and biennially thereafter, the Board of County Commissioners of Wake County is authorized and empowered to appoint a Treasurer for Wake County.

Sec. 2. The County Treasurer so appointed by the Board of County Commissioners shall be vested with the powers, authority, duties and responsibilities imposed upon County Treasurers by Chapter 155 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, by G. S. 115-91, and by other applicable provisions of law.

Sec. 3. The salary or compensation of the Treasurer so appointed shall be fixed and determined by the Board of County Commissioners of Wake County.

Sec. 4. Chapter 490, Public-Local Laws of 1935, as the same relates to the election and term of office of the Treasurer of Wake County, Chapter 1132, Session Laws of 1957, as the same relates to the salary of the Treasurer of Wake County, and all other laws and clauses of laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 5. The provisions of this Act shall apply only to Wake County.

Sec. 6. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after December 1, 1964.
