AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 138 OF THE GENERAL STATUTES SO AS TO INCREASE THE MILEAGE ALLOWANCE OF STATE EMPLOYEES AND MEMBERS OF STATE BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS FROM SEVEN CENTS (7¢) TO EIGHT CENTS (8¢) PER MILE.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  Subdivision of subsection (b) of G.S. 138-5, as the same appears in the 1961 Cumulative Supplement to the General Statutes, is hereby amended by striking out the words and figures "seven cents (7¢)" in line 1 and inserting in lieu thereof the words and figures "eight cents (8¢)."

Sec. 2.  Subsection (a) of G.S. 138-6, as the same appears in the 1961 Cumulative Supplement to the General Statutes, is hereby amended by striking out the words and figures "seven cents (7¢)" in line 1 of subdivision (1) and inserting in lieu thereof the words and figures "eight cents (8¢)."

Sec. 3.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4.  This Act shall become effective July 1, 1963.
