SENATE BILL 541

 

 

AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS TO THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING AND EQUIPPING COMMUNITY COLLEGES.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  There is hereby appropriated to the State Board of Education an amount up to a maximum of two million five hundred thousand dollars ($2,500,000.00) to be used to provide State matching funds and to purchase equipment for the establishment of community colleges pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 115A of the General Statutes of North Carolina, enacted as part of Chapter 448 of the Session Laws of 1963.

Sec. 2.  This appropriation is contingent upon the availability of funds in the General Fund surplus as of June 30, 1964, as determined by the Director of the Budget and the Advisory Budget Commission. Such funds shall be made available to the State Board of Education in the discretion of the Director of the Budget and the Advisory Budget Commission.

Sec. 3.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4.  This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
