SENATE BILL 330

 

 

AN ACT RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT AND TERMS OF OFFICE OF THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY OF WILSON BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. G. S. 160-178, as the same appears in Volume 3C of the General Statutes, is amended by adding at the end thereof the following:

"The Board of Commissioners of the City of Wilson may appoint a Board of Adjustment consisting of six members, one of whom is to be selected as Chairman of said Board by its members. The terms of office of the present members of said Board of Adjustment shall expire on January 1, 1962, or when their successors are appointed and qualify. The Board of Commissioners shall at its regular meeting in December, 1961, appoint two members to serve for a term of one year, two members to serve for a term of two years, and two members to serve for a term of three years, said terms to begin January 1, 1962. Each year after 1961, the Board of Commissioners will appoint two members of the Board of Adjustment who shall serve for a term of three years, which terms shall begin on January 1st of the ensuing year. A member serving a three year term shall not be appointed to succeed himself."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
