AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 350 OF THE SESSION LAWS OF 1943 RELATING TO THE JURISDICTION OF CRIMINAL CASES OF THE RECORDER'S COURT OF FRANKLIN COUNTY OVER CASES WITHIN ORIGINAL JURISDICTION OF A JUSTICE OF THE PEACE.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Chapter 350, Session Laws of 1943, is hereby amended by changing the period following the word "offenses" at the end of the second paragraph of Section 1 to a semicolon and by adding the following language: "Provided, however, that the provisions of this Section shall not apply to criminal cases involving the Motor Vehicle Laws of North Carolina in which charges for two or more offenses are brought arising from a single occurrence, in which one of such offenses shall not be within the original jurisdiction of a justice of the peace."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
